Bought two vent caps from my local Audi dealer, part number 036131510, removed the hose, and installed them. So, the question is, should I cap the manifold line, or route it to an OCC? Because of cost and ease of installation, I took the cap option. Since most of my driving is not under load (I use a lot of cruise control and highway driving), the OCC wasn’t getting used. The line to the intake manifold is used during “deceleration or idleâ€. After seeing several online posts with pics of their catch, I did some research.Īccording to the Bentley manual, the line to the turbo is used when manifold pressure is “under loadâ€. After several months of driving with the OCC, there was still no oil showing on the OCC dipstick. This means the hose from the valve cover to the intake manifold is still in use.

If you need most out of your PCV ventilation you can use both ports. If only one port is in use, other port can be plugged. Some race cars run wiper cowl some don’t, etc. The reason why we went with two ports is we try to have it as universal as possible so it can accommodate any setup with right side catch can or left side catch can. The main feature of this product, we implemented a self-draining baffled oil/vapor separator with two venting ports to -10ORB, that means oil vapors from crankcase ventilation will remain inside cover before exiting the breather port with a fully serviceable PCV cover. We also managed to fit locking points for wiring loom alligator clips. Also there is a hidden wiring ground for a stealth look or you can keep using OEM ground bolt/stud if cover is going to be anodized. We built a fully removable wiring cover with a flashy design that blends into the rest of the cover, that will never melt. Besides accommodating every angle in the cylinder head shape, we also wanted to address the OEM melting wiring cover and very problematic PCV setup. As everything else on these cars, the cylinder head is a very complex geometry that does not allow us to keep things simple. Not sure how many times it was removed and installed on an engine, but we are happy with the final result and we would like to share it with you. We started working on it in September of 2018 with countless hours in CAD, lots of challenges in design trying to accommodate every step that was planned for this product.
